Building a personal checklist for structure decisions
A short template traders leave our workshop with — adapted to their market and timeframe.
Generic rules fail because sterling on the hourly is not the same as a US index on the five-minute. Your checklist should name the market, the timeframe that defines structure, and the candle that counts as confirmation.
A starting frame we use in coaching:
- Active swing high / low defined how?
- Evidence of momentum shift (list two observable signs).
- Confirmation close required beyond which level?
- Invalidation if price reclaims what?
- Session filter (avoid first X minutes of London if that is your weakness).
Rewrite each line in your language. Bring the draft to a chart clinic; peers and the tutor will poke holes until the wording matches how you actually sit the screen.
